The Ludington Michigan lighthouse in a 45 minute time exposure that started 40 minutes after sunset and ended a few minutes before midnight. I conceived the idea for this shot during the winter and foolishly lead myself to believe that the north star would be lowest in the sky on the first day of summer... wrong! The north star is always directly over the north pole and it makes no difference where the sun is in relation to the equator. Consquentially the north star is at the top of this frame rather than lower as I would have wanted.
