Olympic National Park on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula is noted for its luxuriant temperate rain forests. Trees grow to huge proportions and mosses and lichens drip from every branch. I took this photograph in the Sol Duc Valley; I like the diagonals and the tracery of all the lines in the composition. It is simply a detail of similar sights in the whole forest, where life is abundant in all the moisture brought in by constant storms off the Pacific Ocean.
