Double Take - When The Intended Subject Matter Of A Photograph Becomes Secondary

Each of these images can be described easily: a photo of the Eiffel Tower, an image of droplets of water, a sunset over a lake. What actually catches your eye in these photographs? The titles describe one thing, yet some of us would say there are other focus points of these pictures. The first image is a pitcher of infused water, yet the brilliant grouping of lights in the background begs for the spotlight. Howard Mitchell's "Early Commute" features such a gorgeous golden glare, that it seems as if in the next frame in the series the swath of gold would stretch backwards down the street and nearly blind the viewer with it's full radiance in the foreground. Droplets of water translate to a thousand sleepy cartoon eyes to this viewer, and you can see the other contrasts yourself! Leave us a comment and tell us where you do a double take!
